Irregular Periods & Possible Pregnancy: What to Know

Im 28 yrs old with 5 kids and on the pill. I started my period on June 5 was a lil heavier then the norm for me, also lil blood clots. Weds I stopped or so I thought. Thurs I started again, friday stopped again. Saturday I spotted for only a few hrs with 1 blood clot. Its now sunday night and I now have discharge. I have noticed that Im very very moody even my husband said Im very moody the last few days. Could I be pregnant? If not whats going on with me.

If you have had no interruption in your BCP taking regimen, then you are probably not pregnant. If it will make you feel better, you can test to make sure, but I would suspect that you are probably experiencing some hormonal fluctuations within your cycle. These fluctuations are causing the hormonal symptoms and unusual bleeding.

It may simply require an adjustment of your BCP dosage or prescription. My suggestion would be to wait and see what the next cycle brings. If you experience the same type of abnormal bleeding, I would recommend calling your doctor and letting him/her know what's going on. (If you and your family can stand the hormonal moods till then!)  :-)
