Pregnancy Sinus Congestion Relief: Safe & Effective Options
QuestionHello. I am 24 weeks pregnant and I have been having such awful sinus congestion that it keeps me up all night and gives me these awful headaches. My OB refuses to give me anything other than tylenol or sudafed, although they do not work, and I've heard of a lot of women who are allowed to use things like claritin and other meds during pregnancy. I am so miserable I hate myself and everyone else because I can't get any help. Would it be totally out of line to consult another doctor, or will they just tell me the same thing? I've often had the thought that I just can't get enough oxygen EVER, and that can't be good for the baby. Thank you so much for your help. Sorry it was so long!
AnswerHI Ali,
sorry for delay, puter problems. I would visit an ear, nose and throat specialist. This happened to me and they took me to surgery and dilated and sprayed me really good and it lasted for awhile, but I delivered her 3 mo early so I am sure they would have done it again toward the end if necessary. I was also on Afrin spray and antihistamines. See the ear, nose and throat, sometimes the regular ob's just dont know alot about these situations.
