QuestionQUESTION: Hello,
I took abortion pills,& checked if abortion occured,by getting a sonography,but i m nt understanding my menstrual cycle.my abortion occured abt 10 days back,i haven't got my periods.wat is wrong,please help.
ANSWER: Hello, Lakshmi,
What is wrong is you tried to have an abortion. Abortion disrupts a woman's hormones. Nobody knows when or if you will get your period back. There is no reason to expect to have a period back anytime soon. You will have to be patient. Take one day at a time. Don't take any more chances, and don't take more pills. They are dangerous. Another thing is that the pills often don't work, if taken at the wrong time. How far along were you?
There is a company in India that puts together kits. They are totally unscrupulous. They don't care what happens to the woman, and they're getting away with it when women in India bleed to death. The kit contains a pill that the manufacturer specifically says is NOT to be used by pregnant women because there are several ways it can kill a woman. I wrote to them, and they ignored me.
Please stay safe! Let me know how you do.

AnswerHello, Lakshmi,
That's what I thought. The company that puts out those kits, Cipla, is totally irresponsible. They're doing it for the money, I'm sure. Misoprostol is the drug that is not supposed to be used by pregnant women. So many doctors these days don't even know what medical ethics mean anymore. It is forbidden to give a woman any drug to produce abortion, and doctors are supposed to first do no harm. Abortion is very harmful, no matter how it is done, and usually it's being done on healthy women, so any doctor who provides an abortion is doing harm. 6 weeks is a little iffy. In some cases, the pills don't work that late. And they are never given past 7 weeks here. Consider yourself lucky nothing worse has happened, but keep an eye on things. If you start to bleed heavily, get IMMEDIATE medical attention; your life could be in danger. If it turns out you are still pregnant, you may miscarry, but if your hormones are high enough, the best course of action would be regular progesterone treatments for the remainder of your pregnancy. Try to find a doctor who believes in medical ethics. Ask the doctor if he does abortions or refers for them. If so, you should go to someone else. Any doctor who would dream of harming a woman in that way doesn't really care about you. They may act like they do, but their judgment is warped, and they cannot be trusted. Hey, I know this from personal experience. I had a so-called "doctor" lie to me and try to intimidate me into an abortion. I didn't expect it because I was in the hospital with a medical condition. I would never have consented to abortion, because I know how dangerous they are, and when I refused, he became very angry with me. He tried to make me believe that I would die if he didn't treat, but I refused, and I'm here to tell you about it, over 30 years later. And the baby I was carrying was still alive at the time.
About 1/4 of all pregnancies end up in miscarriage, and it is much, much safer for the mother than abortion. But I haven't heard of any doctor testing to see how viable the pregnancy is before giving a treatment. Why would a doctor give a treatment that wasn't even needed? It's the money. At this point, the whole world is infested with "doctors" like that.
Anyway, test for pregnancy again. Don't do anything further to harm yourself. Take care.
