QuestionHi.. Well last tuesday, Feb 28th, the I came down with a cold, or at least I thought it was just a simple cold. Then this past weekend, I was coughing constantly and it was keeping me up at night. I went to my doctor and he gave me some zithromax antibiotics. It was a 3 pack of 500 mg each. I took that for 3 days. I am doing a little better than I was, but I am still having the cough, stuffy/runny nose, postnasal drainage, and some sneezing. I am really not sure what could be causing all this, but normally my colds last a week or less, and I just dont feel like I have a cold. I think it is something else. Could this be sinusitis? And is that usually bacterial? I am wondering if taking another course of zithromax antibiotics will help this or if I just have to let it run its course. I have called my doctors office but have not heard back from them yet, and I wanted to get some other opinions of what this could be. Thanks so much for your help.
AnswerCould this be sinusitis? Or tree pollen allergy.
And is that usually bacterial? Sinusitis is usually bacterial or fungal.
I am wondering if taking another course of zithromax antibiotics will help this or if I just have to let it run its course. Ask for an allergy med to add at this time.
