Smoking and Fertility: Can Smoking Affect Pregnancy Chances?

I used to smoke one ciggarette a day until I quit two days before I had sex. I am hoping that I am pregnant but not sure if I will be because of smoking? Is there a good chance that I will be?

Hello Cathy. Smoking will not have any affect on whether or not you are pregnant. IF you had unprotected sex within 72 hours of ovulation, there is a chance that you will get pregnant. Start NOW taking folic acid EVERY day- 1-2mg. to prevent spinal cord defects which develop before you will ever know you are pregnant.All the best- Cheri.
