Delayed Period After C-Section & Breastfeeding: What to Expect
QuestionI am 26 and had my second child nine months ago. She was delivered by C-section, so I had my tubes "tied" at the same time. I have yet to start my period. I am brestfeeding and thought that may be why. I also brestfeed my first and started seven months after her birth. I was wondering if I should be concerned or if it is normal? How long should I wait until I take it to the doctor? I feel fine and have to say I do not miss it, but if going too long is not good, I would like to know. Thank you
AnswerAs long as you are breastfeeding, you may not get your period. Even after you stop nursing, you may not get your period for up to a full year. It is normal. Once you stop nursing, see if you get your period. If you do not get your period by a few months after stopping of the nursing, consult your doctor. However, it is normal for up to a year after you wean your baby.
