QuestionHElp please...I am 31 years old with 3 normal high risk pregnancies (prom,pre-eclampsia x 2)
Because of stress i am completely confused on my dates I had my period in july at the end of the month i think. i understand that isnt much help.
I went to the Er yesterday because of some spotting when i wipe pink to red not heavy and no cramps...Hcg quant was done with a 560 result. ultra sound showed the sac. er dr said probable mis carrige do to low numbers and the US. I am very scared...called my doc went in for a repeat level today and it had increased to 660.I detected my 2 child early in pregancy because I assume I am sensitve to the HCG hormone. Is it possible that the ER doc is wrong? I repeat the level in 48 hours. I feel that I may of caught this one early as well.
I hope you can help ease my mind.
thank you in advance

AnswerIf your last period started on the last day of July, and you are pregnant now, you would be greater than 7 1/2 weeks pregnant today. At this point in pregnancy, you should see a fetus and a fetal heartbeat on sonogram and the HCG should double every 48 hours. It appears that either your dates are wrong (for your last period) and the fetus is smaller that you thought, of it is a non viable pregnancy. In very early pregnancy, the HCG values may be low, but they should be rising quicker than yours appear to be risinig. I would suggest waiting to see if the next HCG value is more than 1000 and then, if it is, repeat the sonogram.
