Post-Miscarriage Period Changes: What to Expect

I had a miscarriage and D and C on October 7th.  I had a normal period in November.  I started my next period around the first week in December and it didn't end until right before Christmas.  It was 3 plus weeks long.  I want to get pregnant and now I'm not sure when to expect my next period.  I was fairly normal before everything happened.  Now I am not sure if my period will come 28 days from the beginning of my last period or the end.  Could you please help me.  I kind of feel like I should start my period soon since it lasted so long the last time.

It is very unusual to have this pattern of menstrual cycle after a miscarriage. One possible reason is that there are some remnants of the previous pregnancy inside your uterus. I advise you to get a pelvic ultrasound to make sure that the uterine cavity is empty.
