Sharp Lower Abdominal Pain During Pregnancy: Causes & Relief

Question
I have been experiencing sharp pain in my lower abdomen maybe about 1/2 in under belly button! I have been to my Obgyn and he has done test and ultrasounds and blood test and they can't find anything? I have a feeling it has something to do with my actual uterius because when the baby moves sometimes I get the pain and sometimes for no reason at all. It only last 3-10 sec, thank god it is so unbearable I don't think I could take it if it were to last longer. It is a very sharp electrical feeling very very painfull? whta could it be? this is my 3 rd pregnancy the other 2 c-section?HELP

Answer
I don't know what your pain can be due to. It may be due to a sequestration of gas in your intestines that have been pushed up against your diaphram by the growing uterus. It can be the stretching of muscles in the region under your belly button. However, if the sonogram shows no abnormalities and your blood tests are within normal limits, you will just have to try pain medication to alleviate the discomfort and wait until delivery to get relief.
