Pregnancy Concerns While on Birth Control: Symptoms & What to Do

Question
I have been on birth control pills for 8 months now but have been on 3 different ones in those 8 months.  I have never missed a pill and always take them on time, plus or minus 15 minutes at most.  I went from Loestrin to Yaz to now on OrthoTriCyclen Lo and used a backup method or had no sex for a  month after changing BCP brands as recommended.  For a couple weeks now I have been having some weird symptoms where I feel bloated (but no weight gain) and weird movement or feelings in my lower abdomen mainly but nothing else, no nausea, breast soreness or anything and still have never missed a pill or anything and have had normal periods, heavier since I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo if anything.   Is there a possibility of pregnancy for me or are these just weird symptoms?

Answer
Dear Katie,

From your menstrual and BCP-taking history as you have shared it, I would suspect you are not pregnant. It may be some tendons/ligaments stretching or pulling in a strange or different way which is causing the weird feeling in your abdomen, or some other cause - but without any other symptoms and since you have not missed any periods at all, I do not believe a pregnancy would be at the top of my suspicions list.  :-)

I hope this has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
