QuestionI'm about 27weeks with my 3rd child. I'm not exactly sure where or who or whatnot to ask for help. I have been having lots of pain for almost 2 months. Some say it's "split pelvic pain" some round ligament and some say it's how close my pregnancies have been. My kids are 33 months and 11 months. I have gone to a Physical Therapist and the exercises helped a little but I just get so exhausted from doing them so it's hard to do them everyday and keep up with 2 small kids. The chiropractor we tried next seemed to make things worse and pain killers don't seem to touch the pain. I can't seem to even do the most basic of walking around and my doctor is pretty much just shrugging his shoulders at me. Any suggestions or help of any nature?????????
AnswerPubic symphasis pain is felt right on the bone, and certainly can make walking difficult.
Round ligament pain is felt on the lower abdomen and to one side. Round ligament pain is easily relieved through the "Hip Hiker" movement.
Pelvic instability (in the sacroiliac joint) can also cause continuing pain and make walking difficult.
It's impossible for me to say what is causing your pain, but certainly you, and your OBGYN should be taking it seriously.
Since the exercises that your PT gave you seemed to help, try to find just 10 minutes on most days of the week, where you can do the two or three moves that work the best for your body.
