QuestionHello,I'm 40 weeks and I'm worry about my pregnamcy because I have some contractions but there are not regular and I don't want to go with the cesarean thing my dr. says that everything is fine but I'm getting desperate. Please help me some tips or things that I could do to progress on this situation..?
AnswerIf you are 40 weeks, you will soon start to have regular contractions. We usually allow you to continue with the pregnancy until you reach 42 weeks, at which time, if you have not gone into labor, you will be induced. YOu will not necessarily have a cesarean section unless the induction is not successful. When you start to have contractions at the level of your belly button that occur every 3 mintues (from the beginning of one contraction to the beginning of the next contraction) and each contraction remains hard for a full minute, call your doctor and get checked. When you have dilated to 3-4cm, you will be admitted to the hospital. If you break your water, call your doctor.
