Early Pregnancy Concerns: Bleeding & No Yolk Sac - What to Do?

Question
Its my first time being pregnant and im 36 years old. My LMP was May 9th. I had a sonogram done this past weekend and there was no yok sak detected. I was told it looks like im 4-5weeks pregnant. Im having bloodwork done to check my levels which I dont know the results yet. Tonight I had brownish bleeding and what appeared to be tiny clots. Is this normal? Im terrified that Ill miscarry. Please advice me.

Answer
No, clopts and brownish beeding is not normal. If your last period started on May 9, you should now be 10 weeks pregnant. If you are only measuring 4-5 weeks, something is wrong. However, if your dates are incorrect, and you really are 4-5 weeks pregnant, a sonogram will only show an empty gestational sac, no yolk sac, no fetus, and no fetal heartbeat. After 6 weeks, we see a fetus and a heartbeat. I would suggest another sonogram in two weeks if you do not start heavy bleeding.
