Delayed Period & Potential Pregnancy: Understanding Cycle Days & Birth Control

Question
my last period was sep 5-10. As of now I have not gotten my period but have experencied some cramps like it is coming but it hasnt. I am on birth control pills. However, i know it is very unlikey but if I am in the 1% of people who get pergnant on the pill then when are the dates I would of had to have sex to concive?

Answer
Since the pill is 99.9% effective against pregnancy, it is unlikely that you ovulated at all. However, if you had ovulated, it would have been on cycle day #14 (September 18) and you could have conceived if you had sex on September 17,18,19, or 20. You were due for your period on October 2. Since the best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after missing your period, a pregnancy test is, by now, accurate. If the test is negative, you are not pregnant. The earliest symptoms of pregnancy are nausea, fatigue, and breast tenderness.
