Persistent Abnormal Bleeding & Abdominal Discomfort: Seeking Answers
Questionhi, i asked a few weeks ago about a period that was black then red then black again and extremely light for the entire duration accompanied by abdominal discomfort! since then i have seen my gynecologist who did a pap test and some urine tests...the urine tests came back fine and said i wasnt pregnant...the doctor called me a mystery and said that he couldnt see anything wrong! about 5 hours after the pap test i started to spot some and for the last six days i have had browinsh spotting/discharge and my abdomin had been uncomfortable for almost a month now!it almost feels the same way it did when i was 7-8 months pregnant...tired, full, stretched. the doctor might not think that there is anything wrong but i know my body and not any of this is even remotly normal for me! any advise or ideas you could give me about this would be very much appreciated...thank you!
AnswerIf you have any doubt that the urine pregnancy test was correct, I would suggest taking a blood test for pregnancy (Beta HCG) which is a bit more accurate. Sometimes, after a PAP smear, you can have some bright red bleeding. A brownish discharge or bleeding is usually "old" blood that had been in the uterus and is being extruded. If you have abdominal pain, a sonogram will help determine if you have any cysts or anything else going on in your abdomen. If you have any doubts, go back to your doctor and geg re-examined.
