QuestionDoctor,
My hasband(34) and I(31) have been TTC for 14 months. We ran all the test last year and was told everything was normal.I just got a copy of the result and not sure how to interpret it. Could you help?
TSH - 2.41
Estradiol - <32
Progesteron - 3.8
FSH - 4.7
Hystersalpingogram - normal
Seman Analysis
Volume - 3.4
Count - 74.0
Motility - 67
Progression - 1+-2
Norm oval head - 5
Irregular head - 73
Interpretation: Normal volume, count and notility. Decreased Progression %oval
Note:Suitable for IVF
Now I am little worried that this note means we will not get pregnant without IVF? I started on Clomid this cycle for the first time. Just completed day 5-9 pill today and waiting for ovulation to occur. Are we wasting time here or IVF is the way to go? I have not seen any RE yet.
Thank you very much for the help.
AnswerBased on the results you mentioned, you appear to be fine. Your tubes are patent and the semen analysis was within normal limits. Your progesterone level is a bit low, but that depends on when in your cycle it was done. I would keep trying with Clomid for 6 months, increasing the dosage each cycle. If, after 6 months, you are unsuccessful, I would consider IVF. Good Luck.
