I asked you a week ago about not having regular periods after having a miscarriage. I had stopped the patch when i found out i was pregnant, and then i had the MC and a D&C done on Sept 9th. I have only had 2 period since, and last month i was 48 days late, and now I am 41 days late now. Could it be because of the patch? I have heard when you go off the patch it can cause irregular periods. I am trying to get in to see someone, but i have no insurance, and so no one wants to see me with out paying upfront, and i dont have that kind of money. Please let me know about the Patch and the side effects of stopping use. Also we are trying to conciece again, but can I ovulate with out having a period?
AnswerWhen you stop the patch (of the pill) you will revert back to the type of cycles you had before you started the patch. If you had irregular periods before going on the patch, you will gain have irregular periods when stopping the patch. The patch will not cause you to have longer cycles. However, unless you have a period, it is doubtful that you are ovulating. If you have not had a period for 41 days or 48 days, I would suggest that you call your gyn and have your period induced for you. You may wish to purchase an ovulation predittor kit to help pinpoint the day of ovulation. Good Luck.
