Possible Pregnancy After Ortho-Evra and Interrupted Cycle: What To Do
QuestionI am 27. I have 2 kids 4 and 7 by c-section. I had an abortion between my 2 kids and a miscarriage September 2004. I have been on the ortho evra patch for the last year. Recently I have been having unprotected sex. I had a period the end of January that was light. For financial reasons my patch was off two weeks top. I put the patch back on and recently took it off expecting a period and it has not come. Can I be pregnant? Will I be able to carry it?
AnswerIf you stopped the patch for any length of time, you may have ovulated and could have conceived if you had sex around the time of ovulation. I do not know when you were due to have your period. However, if you believe that you are more than one week late for your period, take a pregnancy test and you will know for sure. If you are, indeed, pregnant, there should be no reason why you cannot carry the pregnancy. If you have had two cesarean sections, you may or may need to have another cesarean section, depending on the reasons for the previous cesarean sections.
