QuestionI have been on the patch for over a year. I recentley stoped wearing it, to become pregnant. I stopped in October, and had a period toward the end of October. No period in Nov. and I had a period on Dec. 1-7th which was dark colored blood. In Jan., the 2nd week in January I had spotting occor about a week, nothing more that a lightly colored pink discharge. No period in February yet. Through out this time we have unprotected sex, me and my partner (only one).We have been together for 10 years, and we have a 5 year old son, and plan to have another. I have taken 5 pregnancy tests through out all this time, and had blood work done about three weeks ago, and all was negative. Can you please tell me what is going on with my body? Thank you.
AnswerNo, I'm sorry I can't tell you what is going on with YOUR body. But what goes on with many bodies after getting of the chemical steroids of the pill/patch etc. is that there has to be a healing and a return to normal function.
IF you've been on the patch and or other birth control chemicals for a while, then you have possibly damaged your fertility and your normal cycles. I hope they come back to normal but it appears that you will have to give it more time than you have. It could take a year.
I would stop taking the pregnancy tests because they are wasting your money. EAt right, get enough rest, take your vitamins and get your exercise. Even if you don't get pregnant again, you will be a better mother to your current child. It may take more time to heal.
