Light Bleeding & TTC: Understanding Period Changes After Pill

Question
I am 32 and have no children.  The first day of my last period was Jan. 11.  I stopped taking the pill in Oct. after about 15 years and have been trying to get preg. since then.  Prior to being on the pill, my period would last a full 6-7 days.  While on the pill, my periods would last about 5 days.  Since stopping the pill I only bleed very lightly for about 1 1/2 days followed by 2 days of brown spotting.  I have a regular 31 day cycle and according to my bbt chart, I seem to be ovulating around cd18.  I have read that very short/light periods can be due to having a thin endometrium...is this something I should be concerned about?

Answer
Don't be concerned. As long as you have regular 21 day cycles (from the first day of your period until the first day of your  next period) you should be able to conceive. If you have a 31 day cycle, ovulation usually occurs on cycle day #17. Even if you have a thin endometrium, as long as youo have a period every month you should have no difficulty conceiving. A period is considered normal from 1-13 days. The endometrium   should thicken once you are pregnant due to a higher amount of estrogen.
