Hysteroscopy Procedure: Duration and What to Expect

Question
Approx. how long will the hysteroscopy take for the 1.7 cm polyp?  I am soooo afraid of this procedure that I haven't slept in a week.

Answer
If the polyp was near the cervical openiing, it can usually be twisted off with a ring forcep in about 2 seconds. However, since it is within the uterus, it is being removed with a hysteroscopy. The time it takes to remove the polyp will depend on, ecasely, where it is located in the uterus and the ease of removal. It should not take very long as all. Don't worry.
