Spotting After Possible Ovulation: Could It Be Pregnancy?

Hi there!

I am 26 yrs old with one 4yr old child. LMP was on 4/3.

I had my last menstrual period on April 3rd and this lasted 4
days...my periods work like clockwork. On April 15th, I am
positive that I ovulated (can feel it mezzelschmitz...sp?) and
husband and I had unprotected sex on April 13th, 14th, 15,
16th and 17th. On April 21st, I started spotting brown/maroon
then red until April 25th. I am not due for my next period until
April 30th. Is there a chance that I could be pregnant? I have
never spotted mid-cycle let alone a week before my period. The
last time I spotted like this was when I was pregnant with my 4
yr old son and that lasted until I was 10wks pregnant. Is this
normal?

Implantation occurs around 8 days following fertilization. If you ovulated on April 15, and you did become pregnant, implantation would have occurred around April 21, so the bleeding you saw could have been implantation bleeding. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after missing your next period. You are due for your period on April 30, so if you do not get your period by May 7, take a pregnancy test.
