Hysteroscopy for Small Polyp: Procedure Details & Anxiety

Question
It's me again.  Had the sonohystagram the polyp was confirmed less than 2 cm.  They are suggesting it be removed via hysteroscopy.  I am petrified of surgery.  Is this a long procedure?  Could this be cancer?  Also, the lining appeared thin besides the polyp. They said that the poly on the regular sonogram is what made my lining look thick.

Answer
I agree to remove the polyp via hysteroscopy. It is usually done in the office (if they have a hystereoscope) or can be also done in the OR. The the removal of the polyp is only a minute or two. It is very doubtful that a polyp is malignant, but occasioally we can see a malignant polyp. Usually it is quite benign. Don't worry.
