Ovarian Cyst, Uterine Lining & Polyp: Understanding Potential Causes & Next Steps

Question
We have been talking that I have a 1.8 cm cyst on my ovary with a small septation, I have a uterine lining of 2.3 cm 4 days prior to my period which is a 32 day cycle (for over 20 years) I am 39.  They just noticed a polyp also. Could this be endometrial cancer?  Pap was normal in dec. and had a ct scan in jan for something else Very scared.  Feel like a cat being put in water.

Answer
Everything you mention is normal, including the endometrial polyp. If, on the other hand, you are having copious bleeding inbetween your periods, and the polyp is large, you can have it removed. Otherwise, do nothing.  As I mentioned before, you have to get a sonogram right after you start your period. The measurements that you had were during your luteal phase (after mid cycle) when  the endometrium is getting thick in preparation for a pregnancy. Once you get your period, the endometrium goes back % benign. Please stop worrying.
