Meth Use During Pregnancy: Risks & Newborn Drug Testing

My friend is 20 yrs old and she is doing meth. we are needing to know how long meth stays in the baby system. She cant quit doing drugs and she doesnt want the baby to get drug tested at the hospital and her kid get taken away. Do they drug test every newborn?

If there is any history of drug use in the mother, it is possible that the hospital will peerform a toxicology screen on the baby. If  there are drugs in the baby's system, they may take the baby into protective custody. If there are drugs in the mother's system, they do not take the baby. I do not know how long meth stays in the system. i would suggest that she stop all drugs sfor the remainder of the pregnancy, for her health and the health of the baby.
