QuestionI am 26 years old, I have 2 children and my last cylce started Oct. 17, 2003.
I work only part time, but when I am there I get really sick. We recently had tests done at work and determined that there is mold in the air and dangerous levels of mold in our ceiling. With as sick as I have been, I am really worried this may be affecting my baby. Is there any way to find out if the mold I am breathing in will affect my unborn baby? Something tells me this isn't good.
Thank you in advance for your time.

AnswerWhile inhalation of mold is not good for you, it will not be harmful to your fetus. Mold can cause damage to your alveoli and lungs, but the baby is not breathing while it is growing in your uterus. Mold does not get into your bloodstream and will not effect the fetal circulation (where the baby gets its oxygen). Don't worry. I would check out your lungs if you are wheezing or showing any signs of respiratory distress. HOwever, the baby is safe.
