Surgery During Pregnancy: Risks and Concerns - A Patient's Question

Question
hi i am 7/8 weeks pregnant.when i was 5 weeks i went to the doctors because of a dull ache on my right side.they admitted me into hospital as they thought it could be an ectopic pregnancy.they did a key hole surgery on me to find out but it turned out not to be ectopic, but i did have a cyst on my right ovary.i had a scan when i was 6 weeks and the baby looked well considering everything.i was just wondering if there were any risks to the baby's health, or if something could be wrong because of the surgery.could i still lose the baby because of the operation.i feel like all the stress is stopping me from enjoying my pregnancy.thankyou

Answer
Gemma,
If you already went through the surgery there is very little to worry about except eating right and staying healthy. Try not to sress out about the operation because it doesn't do you or baby any good. as long as your check ups are going well and baby is healthy during them everything should be fine. just smile and enjoy the life growing inside you. Thank you.
