Answer
What was the date of the FIRST day of your period. It does not matter when the last day of your period is. A  period is considered normal for your period to last for up to 14 days. If you bleed steadily for more than 14 days, you should see your doctor and definitely be started on birth control pills to regulate your cycle. There are no complications in taking the pill and the pill lowers the incidence of  pelvic inflammatory disease, iron deficiency anenmia, ovarian cysts, cancer of the ovary, cancer of the uterus, acne, colon cancer, dysmenorrhea. The pill is also 99.9% effective to avoid pregnancy. The bith control  pill is the recomended treatment for irregular cycles. What are your mother's reasons for not wanting you to start the pill?
