Pill Starting & Cycle Changes: What to Do When Bleeding Occurs
QuestionI am starting taking the pill after three years of not using it. I know to take it the Sunday after my period starts. Last Saturday, my period started or so I thought it was my period, so on last Sunday I started taking the pill. I was sick everyday. I continued to bleed lightly and spot so I continued with the pill. Well this Saturday, my period really came. I've taken the first seven pills. Do I take the next set of pills or do I start a new pack, since last week really wasn't my start date? Ortho- tri- cyclen lo is what I'm taking.
AnswerKeep taking the pill. It doesn't matter when you start the pill. They just have you start the pill when your period starts so your period doesn't have to make too much of an adjustment. Just keep taking the pill, and make sure that you use condoms for the frist two weeks that you are on the pill.
