Subchorionic Bleed & RhoGAM: What You Need to Know
Questioni am 14 weeks pregnant and bleed from a subchorionic bleed. do i need to get a rogam shot?
i did not get one and it has been 5 days since the initial bleed, is there anything that i should be concerned about?
AnswerA subchorionic bleed is merely a sequestration of blood within the folds of the growing placenta. The bleeding does not affect the baby or the pregnancy, and does not need a RhoGam injection. It usually dissipates within a few weeks. You do not have to stay on bed rest, but if it makes you feel better, by all means stay on bed rest. The bleeding should get less and less with time.
