QuestionI am on my 10 week and I have been lightly bleeding for almost 5 weeks. My doctor had told me that it should be nothing to worry about just don't be extremely active. When will this stop
AnswerDear Fabian,
Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing when this will stop for you. If you have a subchorionic hematoma, they can sometimes bleed out a little bit for several weeks. As long as the fetal heart tones are still good and there has been nothing on ultrasound that has alarmed your doctor and you are not experiencing severe cramping with the bleeding, try not to worry.
There just is no way for anyone to be able to tell you with any certainty when the bleeding will end. The good news is that you would rather the hematoma bleed out a bit at a time than have it be a very large hematoma that remains there throughout the pregnancy and then causes problems later.
I hope this has helped you in some small way, even though you didn't get a definitive answer. I wish you well.
