Abortion and Fibroids: Seeking Second Opinion - A Patient's Story
QuestionI went to get an abortion when I was 7 weeks pregnant. The doctor said they couldn't do it in the clinic because I am anemic so I needed to go to the hospital in New Jersey. I went to the hospital and they said that I have fibroids that are big and that I can not get a "regular" abortion. She said either I keep the baby (which is not an option for me) or I get a partial hysterectomy. I am now about 9 weeks pregnant and I really need another opinion. I cant keep this baby but I also think a hysterectomy is extreme...please help me!!
AnswerDear Missy - I would highly recommend the following group of doctors. They are in Manhattan. The number is 212-860-2600. Tell them the situation. They may be pricey, but they are definitely worth it. If they can help you, they will. Please let me know what happens,
Doctor Joan
