Irregular Periods & Fertility: Understanding Delayed Menstruation
Questionim 16 and me and my boyfriend have been together for 3 years when i first started having sex my period was coming on every other month but now i haven't had a period in about six months i want to have a baby soon after i graduate in 2007 what can i take to help me to get my period or to help me get pregnant
AnswerDear La Kiya,
My recommendation for women who have not had a period consistently in 2-3 months is to see a doctor. A cause needs to be determined as to why you are not having regular menstrual cycles. Many things could be causing this, including issues with a hormonal imbalance, polycystic ovarian syndrome, even some STDs can affect your menstruation.
Until a cause can be determined as to why you are not ovulating and/or menstruating normally, you may not be able to get pregnant without treatment.
I hope this answered your question and has helped you. I wish you well and you and your family a merry Christmas.
