Unexpected Bleeding After Birth Control Error: What Should You Do?

Question
Hello my name is Kristy, Im 23 from North Carolina. Ive been married 3 years. My question is I started my period on the 31st of August. Me and my husband had sex the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th of September. During these days I got really intoxicated and I took the wrong pills in my birth control wheel. I took the middle cycle pills. On the 8th, I started bleeding blackish brownish blood, but not that much.  I stopped taking birth control until i get my period again. Its about a week before AF is due to arrive and Im getting Swollen and tender breasts, minor cramps, food cravings, and minor irritability. Could these be possible signs of pregnancy or just AF due to arrive because Ive never had this bad PMS before if it is PMS. Is there a chance im pregnant?

Answer
If your last period started on August 31, then the earliest that you could have ovulated would have been on September 14. You can only become pregnant at the time that you ovulate, so there is no way you could have conceived if you had sex only on September 3,4,5, or 6. If you miss a pill or take the wrong pill, you will get some breakthrough bleeding. Yours appears normal and is expected. If you do not get a period by September 28-30, wait an additional seven days and take a pregnancy test.
