Questioni had a miscariage a week ago i went to ER when i saw that i was bleeding i had an ultrasound done the fetus is still in me but the ultrasound showed that i was only 9weeks/ when i really was 13 weeks. the doctors say that i will pass out the baby but what should i do? i mean i do want to get another ultrasound done to see if i already passed it out.
AnswerDear Yomayra,
I really would recommend that you see your regular doctor. Your doctor will want to make sure that you have had a complete miscarriage, especially as far into your pregnancy as you were. If any tissue has been left behind, they will need to do a D & C to avoid a very serious excessive bleeding or infection potential.
I hope this answers your question and I'd like to express to you my sadness in your loss. Please know that most all miscarriages cannot be prevented. They are nature's way of dealing with a pregnancy in which something has gone very wrong in the initial development of the fetus. I know that may not help much, but women tend to ask themselves questions that just have no acceptable answers. I wish you well and will have a good thought for you. And, again, I encourage you to see your doctor.
