Post-Miscarriage Recovery & Trying to Conceive: What to Expect
QuestionI had a m/c at 10 weeks and my u/s showed that there was possibly a gestational sac near the cervix with no indication of a fetal pole (maybe a blighted ovum). The doctor at the hospital suggested that i allow mother nature to take it's course and have a natural m/c. It has since been 5 days and the bleeding has almost completely stopped. What are your opinions about trying so soon to conceive again after a natural miscarriage? Is there an increased chance of miscarrying if we try again so soon?
AnswerDear Tania
15-20% of healthy women abort in theie first pregnancy for no apparent reason. There is no relationship between trying to get pregnant soon after miscarriage, whether spontaneous or induced, and chances of a successful next pregnancy. I would only recoommend to postpone trying to conceive if trauma to your genital tract occured during the miscarriage.
If your miscarriage was uncomplicated, you can try 2 get pregnant as soon as u wish.
Good luck
