Miscarriage Concerns: Spotting & hCG Levels - Seeking Advice

Question
well it wasnt a molar. My levels have dropped to 151 now from 1495 on June 7. I have been spotting very lightly brown, no red. Almost looks like bowel sometimes. Been doing this since June 8. its now June 21. Is this normal? Dr. also told me that he didnt think either every implanted thats why ive m/c both at 6 weeks the exact same way. Does any of this sound normal?

Question -
I had a m/c in Jan.06, 6 wks along. had severe cramping one night but no bleeding at all, went in next day for u/s. nothing seen not even sac. m/c naturally 1 week later. 6.5 weeks pregnant again last week. severe cramping started just like last time but no bleeding at all, went in next day for u/s. nothing once again, no sac, no ectopic, nothing. levels fell almost completely just like last time. started bleeding 2 days later. i understand the m/c part but its the u/s that are confusing me. why isnt anything seen before any bleeding occurs? my hcg's are rising very high. the dr. cant explain where the embryo's are. can you? please

Crystal,

It sounds to me like you are experiencing a molar pregnancy.  HGC levels rise, and sometimes there is a sac, but no fetus actually forms.  Either your body gets rid of it as in your case, or medication needs to be given to induce a miscarriage.  I think you need to consult with a fertility specialist.  That would be the next best step.  Good luck.  I hope this helps!

Answer
Crystal,

First of all, you may need to have a d & c if you aren't passing any tissue and are only spotting.  Then, after a couple of normal cycles, you can try again.  You may need to be taking progesterone as soon as you conceive to try and sustain the pregnancy.  Sometimes, low progesterone levels can cause failed pregnancies.  There are a few other reasons why you may not be able to carry a pregnancy.  You should have your thyroid checked too.  I think the best thing you could do is to see a fertility specialist.  This has got to be so frusterating!  I hope this helps.  Let me know how things go.
