Natural Birth After Cervical Cancer: Risks & Possibilities

Question
I really want to have a natural birth, but I am worried that it will hurt the baby. I have had stage 1 cervical cancer (which has been treated) but supossidly because of that It puts me at a high risk pregnacy and a natural birth would not be possible and Id  have to do a planned c-section. Do you know if this is true?

Answer
HI Michele,

I dont know for sure- who says C-section is the only way to go? If your doctor is the the one saying this- I would try a second opinion.... is there scar tissue perhaps, or any reason why your cervix wouldn't dilate properly? Was part of the cervix removed in the treatment? This may be why they are saying this.

Congratulations by the way! You have really done a great job!
keep me posted.
