Understanding a 13-Week Termination: A Personal Story

Question
I found out I was pregnant when I was six weeks and one day pregnant. I had an ultrasound and a subchorionic haematoma was noted. My partner and I decided that we weren't ready & decided that a termination was our best option. As I live in a remote area of Australia I was referred to a clinic 800km away. At the consultation I was told that I was 10.5 weeks pregnant and at the time of the termination I would be 11.5 weeks.
On the day of the termination I was given pills to control any bleeding but I threw them up. I wasn't given any more. After the surgical abortion was performed I was given some documents. I was visibly pregnant, but I had no idea that I was 13 weeks pregnant, not 11.5. I was only informed after the procedure was completed.
I had large blood clots and pain, but I expected that and the bleeding stopped after a week. About 10 days after the procedure my partner and I were having sex, clear fluid gushed out of me onto the floor although it had never happened before I thought it may be from sex. About an hour or two afterwards, I was bleeding in huge amounts the blood was a bright red. There was so much blood I was so scared.
Is this normal or had the procedure not been performed properly?
