QuestionI know you have been asked this question a lot. I have seen different types of answers online. I wanted to ask personally.
Here is my situation: My last period was august 26th. usual cycle is 28-29 days. I m sometimes 1-2 days off but nothing significantly. On sept. 17th, i had sex with my husband without any protection. Now i am 6 days late and have no symptoms of usual period such as acne, spotting 1 - 2 days before having period, cramping. I also have no symptoms of pregnancy either, might be too soon. With my first pregnancy, the morning I felt breast tenderness i took my hpt and it was possitive. it was so easy.
I took home pregnancy tests yesterday morning and a day before in the afternoon. Both were negatives. I am planning to take another one in a day or two. If i dont get my period by sunday i will call the doctor. what is your opinion. I usually dont care about timeliness of period but since there is a possibility here that I could be pregnant. I will be very happy and excited if I am. I am very anxious to know. Please give me your feedback.

Well I did some calculations according to the period date you gave me.
According to your date, you would have ovulated somewhere between the 9th abd the 11th of september. This is based on a 28 to 30 day cycle. Thats why I gave 3 days lee-way for ovulation to start.
You had sex with your husband on the 17th. Which is approximately one week later. So if your cycle is a regular 28/30 day cycle, then its very unlikely that you are pregnant.
At this point, I think it would be safe to assume that your test results are pretty accurate, and that you are not pregnant, if we base the information to be correct according to your cycle.
However, at times women can ovulate later then normal, or have a irregular cycle at any given time. Not all women ovulate, as the text book says. Alot ovulate sparatically, and the timing goes against the golden rule, of 14 days after your period.
So, this could be whats going on with you right now. Perhaps, you ovulated much later, then you would think, and hense why you are getting false test results. If thats the case, then it would be to early for the test to pick up the HCG factor in your urine.
This is a possibility.
If you dont get your period by Sunday, I am in complete agreement with you to see your doctor. They will do blood work, that will give you a conclusive answer as to if you are pregnant.
It's a 50/50 chance here. So I will keep my fingers crossed for you :)
