Understanding Endometrial Cavity Fluid: CT Scan Results Explained
QuestionHello. My daughter had to have a CT scan because of a possible bowel problem though it turned out to be faecal loading. However, the report we got back said that she has a small amount of fluid in the endometrial cavity. What does this mean? Thanks
AnswerHi Sophie,
How old is your daughter? Endometrial cavity fluid is often associated with pregnancy, although it can also be a simple build up of blood or mucous. It all depends on the skill of the person interpreting the scans and of the specific location of the fluid. Either way however, I would recommend that you seek an explanation from your doctor - for reassurance if nothing else.
I'm sorry not to be more helpful.
Best wishes,
Sam
