Scrotal Ultrasound Accuracy: Varicocele vs. Testicular Cancer

just was wondering how accurate are scrotal ultrasounds and is it possible for the radiologist, and under a scrotal ultrasound would it be easy to see the diffrence between  a variocele and  testicle cancer thanx.

Hi,
Varicocele have a quite distincitve formation - often described as looking and palpating like a 'bag of worms'. As such scrotal ultrasounds are quite accurate in differentiating between these and testicular cancer, which most commonly presents as a solid mass.
