Understanding Your Blood Test Results: Chloride, Creatinine, and Troponin I

Question
can you pls tell me wat this means
chloride: 109 above high normal

creatinine: 0.6 below low normal

Troponin I:0.05 neg
0.05-0.49 ng/ml suggestive of myocardialinjury or low level of myocardial injury secondary to ischemic as well as to non- ischemic etiologies, including
acs: unstable angina
chf: myocarditis
copd: late presenting ami
pe: sepsis
there is evidence that the presence of elevated troponin levels regardless of cause are associated with a higher risk for short term future events. 0.50 sugg of myocardial injury consistent with ami

Answer
Hi Annette.  The chloride and creatinine results you gave me are only slightly out of normal range, which is unlikely to be of any clinical significance.  Chloride is an electrolyte, and creatinine (if elevated) can indicate kidney problems.  Troponin is a cardiac marker, which means in a heart attack (or heart muscle damage), troponin will be elevated.  Yours is not (it's negative), so you don't need to worry about that.
