Understanding Your DEXA Scan Results: Osteoporosis Explained

Question

Dexa scan results
Dear Dr. Borucki,
Attached is my recent results from my Dexa-scane. Can you explain them to me? Thank you somuch!

Answer
you have mild but present osteoporosis, so you are at a little increased risk of broken bones... you should be on adequate vitamin D3 (at least 2000 IU's per day) and I would consider a bisphosphonate drug, like Fosamax also.  It had gotten a little bit worse since 2007 but not  much.
