Liver Enzyme Test Results: Interpretation & Possible Causes

Question
I had some pain on my right hand side and thought it was due to my gastric bypass surgery in 07.  The doctor did a  non- fasting lft and these were the results.
ALB 51 g/l(38-50)  GGT 109 ul(5-50) Alt 83 (5-40) Elevated GGT. Consider; hepatic enzyme induction,obesity,diabetes mellitus
early/mild hepato biliary disease.  Lipase measurement may be helpful.

In 2000 I had my gall bladder removed, wls 2007. 4 weeks prior to the test I suffered a miscarriage and was on pain medication. The doctored ordered the test after they found a tiny goiter.
I do not drink, but I am a light smoker.  Should i be worried about this?

Answer
Hi Kimberly.  Based on the results of your lab tests that you provided, I do think you need further testing.  The lab report suggested some things that may be causing the increase in your liver enzymes, such as hepatic enzyme induction, obesity, diabetes mellitus, and early/mild hepato-biliary disease.  Check with your doctor.
