AnswerHello Dawn from the U.S.,
How is your doctor checking for the response to this dose or ovulation? I refer you to my blog where I describe how I recommend doing Clomid cycles. 50 mg is a very low dose clomid cycle. The goal with Clomid is to increase the number of eggs that you ovulate, up to three, in order to enhance the chances of pregnancy and overcome the age factor. Often 50 mg does not do the trick. You doctor should be doing ultrasounds to check (1) if you are responding to this dose of medication, (2) how many follicles are growing and (3) when to trigger ovulation and start intercourse. If he/she is not doing that, you may be seeing the wrong doc. In addition, I recommend that you have intercourse daily from the point of ovulation trigger, or if you are using the calendar method, stop intercourse on cycle day#10, then resume intercourse daily, once per day, one ejaculation per day on cycle day #13-17. Then start progesterone on cycle day # 18. Saliva has no place in trying for pregnancy. It has a high concentration of bacteria so you don't want to expose the sperm to it.
