Clomid Side Effects & PCOS: Breast Tenderness & Ovulation
QuestionQUESTION: Hi Dr. Fox,
My OB/GYN prescribed Clomid for me this month because we are trying to conceive. I have PCOS. I took the Clomid on days 3-7 of my cycle, but had a positive ovulation test on day 11 (I think it would have maybe been positive on day 10 if I would have tested). I felt pain on my right side around day 14. Anyway, my breasts are extremely tender, a lot more than they normally are before I get my period. Is this related to the Clomid, or could this be an early sign of pregnancy. I took a test today, and it was negative. Thanks.
ANSWER: This is related to "better" ovulation stimulated by Clomid- not the drug itself. Most females have tenderness in the Luteal phase- a sign of normal cycle- in pregnancy tenderness presists longer.

Sometimes if further evaluation is necessary and depending upon your personal & family history, additional testing would be warranted.changes during the
