Understanding Your Cycle After Clomid and Provera Use
QuestionI am 25 yrs old ,My ob/gyn prescribed provera to regulate my cycles.I have been taking provera for almost 8-9 months without which i do not have regular cycles.Last day of periods was 2 Nov 2004(with provera).I took clomid(100mg)for the first time in my last cycle but the ovoulation test was negative. However,I got periods in the following cycle without taking provera.Does that mean i ovoulated but the ovoulation results were wrong? Should i take clomid again in this cycle to induce ovoulation?
AnswerI would continue taking Clomid for 6 months to see if you ovulate. After six months, I doubt that further use of Clomid is indicated. The fact that you got your period without the use of Provera does not necessarily mean that you ovulated. If you take Clomid on cycle day #5,6,7,8, and 9 you should ovulate on cycle day #14. I would suggest continuing that regimen and have sex every other day after cycle day #13. Check for ovulation starting on cycle day #15 if using an ovulation predictor kit. Good Luck.
