QuestionHi, my name is Christine and my husband and I have been tryting to TTC since Sept. 07. I just finished my fourth round of Clomid at 100 mgs (CD 3-7). The first three months I was only at 50 mgs. I think I just ovulated on day 12 which was early for me. I was just wondering if it is normal to ovulate on CD 12. I usually ovulate day 14-15. I had three temperature spikes to confirm ovulation.

Yes is it normal to ovulate on cycle day # 12. Often, with a Clomid or fertility drug cycle, ovulation will occur early. For that reason, I begin looking with the ultrasound on cycle day # 10. This helps me to gauge the response and time the intercourse or IUI.
If you were ovulatory on 50 mg of Clomid, then increasing doesn't help that much. However, if you did not respond to 50mg of Clomid then we would go up, or if your doctor wants to try to recruit more that one egg to ovulate. Again, the ultrasound helps to distinguish these two things.
