Irregular Periods After TTC: Causes & What to Expect

Hello,
I am 23 and I have been trying to conceive for about four months.
I have to say that before trying to conceive my period were on the spot. they would come right on the day or a day later.
The month the we decided to have a baby my period did not come till two months later. It was heavy and painful for the first two days.

I expected my period to be regular again, but again i am a month late.

I do not know exactly what is happening. Why did my period become irregular right after TTC?

Hello Mary from the U.S.,

The period where you were trying for pregnancy could have been a pregnancy but ended in an early miscarriage.  We call that a chemical pregnancy and a blood pregnancy test would have to have been done to check that.  I presume you did not do this.

If your cycles continue to be irregular, then there is something else going on.  I cannot tell you what it can be without doing a full evaluation.  This is something you would need to see a gynecologist for.
